High Stakes Grill
1936 Harrison Dr
Evanston WY United States
If a true Americana Diner is what you are looking for, then High Stakes Grill would be the place, and the only place in Evanston to find that. Most people passing through, and some locals, seem to neglect it. From the street it merely looks like a portion of the hotel attached to it, but make no mistake. There is both life and food inside. It's siamese twin, "The High Country Inn", holds exclusive rights to the Wyoming Downs horse races, and provides private closed circuit TV feeds and off-track betting of the horse races. This has leant High Stakes Grill the ambience of a day at the tracks. Complete with horse paintings on the walls, various antique riding gear and of course, more horse-shoes than in your Lucky Charms. Quaint, charming and original. The menu contains traditional diner-styled food - hamburgers, french fries, appetizers and 95 cent cups of coffee. Their menu is also accompanied by some far less traditional diner food, such as fettucini and other pasta dishes. Portions are large and it's very doubtful you will leave hungry. The cost is very reasonable which makes for a good location for "power lunches". The service at High Stakes is quite high. The waitresses are prompt at delivering food, refilling drinks and are generally very accomodating to special requests. High Stakes Grill is easy to find once getting off I-80 Exit 3. It's only a block away from the off-ramp, which makes it very convenient for travellers.
