Peter Martin's 20 King Restaurant
41 King Street West
Kitchener ON Canada
Peter Martin opened 20 King Restaurant in the heart of downtown Kitchener, Ontario in 1988, 20 years into an extensive culinary career that spanned two continents. Peter and 20 King have captured the city’s attention. Moving to a new and larger location (41 King street west) in 2002, he has raised that standard to a new level for the downtown area. The historic building at 41 King West has been an integral part of Kitchener for over 100 years. Built in the late 1800s to house W.D. Knell Hardware, it has been recently renovated to Peter’s exacting specifications. The main area on the first floor features intimate corners with leather banquettes, warm colors, tasteful lighting and relaxing background music. On the second floor you will find two private dining rooms for parties of 20, 40, 60 or 80 guests. The rooms feature the original hardwood floors and brick walls, carefully restored to a rustic finish. The third floor, to be completed in the near future will house a studio kitchen and dining room for Peter to host culinary classes, wine dinners and exclusive private parties. One visit to Peter Martin’s 20 King Restaurant and you will see why he has been given high accolades by food critics (appearing in “Where to eat in Canada” 15 years running), celebrities, his peers and people who dine in downtown Kitchener. Peter changes his menus frequently to reflect the changing seasons and to raise his high standards to the next level.
