This is the original Gaylord India Restaurant in Ghiradelli Square, under the same management as Gaylord's on the peninsula in San Mateo. Not to be confused with the Embarcadero Gaylord restaurant, which is an independent operation. This is upscale Indian food, with seating for 150 people, including a private view room for up to 40 guests. The restaurant has a panoramic view of the bay, directly above Aquatic Park and the ships of the Maritime Museum, and across from Alcatraz. The tables are widely spaced with several in private bay window alcoves. Many dishes are prepared and served at the table. Prices are reasonable for a top restaurant, and discount coupons can be printed out from the web site.
